I learned I need to remember to stop while I'm ahead.
Saw a bag in M&S that I quite like, since I will be flying to Florida on my own I don't want a luggage to heave around. Just a right size bag to put a spare pants, dress and such in.
The pros, it's at the exact right size.
The snag, it's £99. Told Mark I was giving up my daily fix of cappuccino for the next 90 days to justify buying the bag. He whined I had too many, I don't, no I don't, I have one for evening, one for shopping, one for when the children are with me, the evening one is too small to hold a packet of sticky plaster, wet wipes for faces and hands, mobile phone, points card (buy 9 cappuccino and get one free stamp card), Boots advantage card, library cards (mine and the children) etc. Shopping bag is too big, I end up buying rubbish to fill it!
So, wheedled my way in and Mark relents and agrees if I do without cappuccino for 45 days, he will allow me to buy it then, as it might get sold out in 90 days.
Last night, he wanted to buy a Disney suitcase for Sileas, saying it was her favourite and that it would be cute for her to carry it to the airport. I know I'd end up carrying it, and tried to put him off buying it, in the end I lost my temper and said 'she has far too many bags'.
Mark then promptly said 'so do you, you're not getting it' and went into a huff.
FYI - Mark, me 3 children are going to Florida. My mother wanted to come with us. Mark works in British Airways so gets free flight. My mother would have to pay her flight and fly alone. Since she is now a panicky little thing over something small, we thought it was best she flew over with Mark and children, and I fly alone.
9 or so hours flying without pleading or bribing the children to shut up and be considerate of other fliers pleases me at no end!
