Well, I have a good opinion about Fedex. They were the only ones who accepted to transport a parcel :D from here to Canada.
I usually use for Europe DPD, but now I asked them for Canada.
Hm, Canada? What's in the parcel?
A painting.
A real painting?
Well, yes.
We have to ask our colleagues from Canada... No, they don't accept art.
Why?
....
TNT ...don't accept art for Canada, also.
DHL, after a long discussion said yes, but the price was soooo high (around 800 $) I said thank you, no.
Fedex said yes. :thumb: BUT...they told me I have to take care about the box. I told them it is no problem, it is not for the first time, I will make a nice wooden box.
Wood? For Canada? No, no, it is not aloud.
:wtf: they have wood too. :lmao:
No, you have to fire proof it. And it has to have a fitosanitary paper.
The box?
Yes.
:banghead:
For Europe they don't even ask me what is in the parcel.
I found a special wood, it was OK, I sent it, they told me 2 days door to door delivery and I can see on their site where the parcel was all the time.
In the same day it was in Paris.
Next day in Memphis.
Third day in Windsor.
Fourth day in Memphis again.
Fifth day still in Memphis.
Sixth day finally in Windsor again. :lmao:
So that's why I love them all. :alc: :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I sympathise, breeze.

I often send parcels to Mexico (actually, not that often now I'm not working because it is so expensive). So far they have only lost two. :lmao: Strangely, they were both posted on the same day, both weighed more or less the same and both were in padded envelopes. One contained a sealed bag of semolina and the other a sealed bag of gravy granules. :lmao: That was back in March and they still haven't arrived. Either they are still testing them Image or they have been abducted by aliens. :lmao:

The only time I used DHL, I had to itemise everything and wasn't able to send some things because they refused to carry them ... nothing illegal or immoral, I hasten to add. :lmao: When the package arrived, Uwe had to pay duty on it, so since then I send them by normal mail and label the contents as 'regalos'.

I recently sent him a new keyboard for his laptop. I sent it priority recorded mail, so that it was tracked every step of the way. It cost me three times as much to send as it did to buy the keyboard, wasn't there within the two days it was supposed to be and nearly ended getting sent back because they tried delivering to the wrong address and didn't bother phoning him, even though the address and phone number were clearly printed. It was a good job I was keeping an eye on where it was because I was able to tell him to phone the depot before it got sent back to Guadalajara.
