Us Brits are slowly coming around to the logical metric system. I can't wait until they change all the road signs to kilometres because they go so much quicker than miles.

In the mid-1970s, there was a campaign to convert the US to the Metric system. Several industries balked at it, one of which being our automotive industry [although they eventually, slowly, began using Metric fasteners on their vehicles, especially when more foreign-made components were built in]. Some felt [and still do] that it's "socialist," and therefore evil. Give me a break. :screwy:

Personally, I'd wanted it to happen, and still do now. The Metric system simply makes sense. As it is, I'm familiar with metric measurements, especially those used in electronics.
