Bird nest webcam

Over ten million people are tuning in to watch a pair of bald eagles and their eggs.

Doug Carrick, 73, set up the camera 18 months ago after watching the birds near his home for 14 years.

The female eagle, on Hornby Island in Western Canada, laid two eggs but one has disappeared.

In total more than 100 million fans have clicked on the live footage hoping to see a chick arrive.

According to The Sun Doug said: "The reaction is unbelievable. I've added three servers to cope with demand."

After getting government permission, he asked a climber to install the camera near the nest -120ft up - while the birds were on their annual migration.

At first Doug ran cables to his TV and video, recording the best moments including the female laying two eggs last year. When he showed his footage to biologists, they offered to set up the web link.

Doug added: "It was great when they laid the eggs. Last year they had two chicks but neither survived. We're hoping for better luck this time round."

Where you been Drew? We've all been watching that cam since Apr 26th. And unfortunately, both the eggs are gone.....no chicks. :(

Now we know where our tax dollars go...
Seriously though, more power for the environmentalists and animal protectors.  Before long, we'll only be able to see these beautiful creatures in zoos, and not roaming the earth and skies as they should.  And they say we are the superior race!

I think you'll find it was a private venture, Michelicious, so your tax dollars are still safely in the hands of your government  :?

I'm from Canada, remember?  Nothing is safe from our tax dollars.  In fact, it has been proven that we only get to keep about 60% of all the money we earn, as the rest goes to taxes (and not even to our own country)!
I realize this was a private venture, just like our Greenpeace movement... but still... everyone and every organization has a way of taking a piece of us in one way or another.

I think we can all argue which of us worst off when it comes to taxes, etc. All I will say is that we have a 25% income tax rate; we pay a percentage of our salaries/wages for National Insurance; 17.5% VAT on most purchases (excluding newpapers and childrens clothing!); and petrol is £5 per gallon; cigarettes £5 per pack of 20. I could go on, but I don't want to depress myself

Not only do I not PMS, as you so delicately put it, but I never have had that problem. As for not being fun of late, maybe you haven't been reading my posts properly. Oh, I forgot, Irony!!
I suggest in future if you wish to have a go at me, you do it by PM rather than on here, thereby leaving others unaware of your misinterpretation of my original post on here.

I worked in an office once upon a time in a place called corporate America.  We had a large number of female employees.  Strangely the new female employees would, within a few months of coming to work, synchronize their menstrual cycle with the other female employees.   What's even stranger is that the men's business trips away from the office also seemed to coincide with the women's menstrual cycles.

It's a modern world now and the women are sent on business trips once a month while the men get to stay at the office, but the moral of this story is still the same.  -  Next week you will be friends again and PM's are nice.

...and now I feel the need to run like hell :run:

No, Admin, you don't have to run. I am one of the lucky ones who has never had a problem with 'that sort of thing' and now I don't have to worry anyway. One of the true joys of ageing!  :D

I suffer from mega PMS. I really do. I cry at the drop of a hat (IE the traffic light changing from red to green) I tend to stay offline during this time but I've recently been put on seasonal. This month will be the 1st time I start it. It means I only get 4 monthlies a year, no cramp (I have endometriosis) You have another 4 days roughly to talk to me, after that I'll be offline for 5-7 days haha

Best get it over and done with before you fly home, Lynne. Being couped up on a plane with you in that state might not be a good idea. There wouldn't be enough peanuts and chocolate on board for a flight that long

Has it been that long?   It seems like only yesterday that the King and I .....

What I really meant was a figurative description of  government  or the ruling class when I used the word King.   Living in the US I sometimes forget that other countries have a King and Queen ...or just a Queen.

Oh Hell's Bells!

She's coming here with her Megacycle and her spicy cheeto farts and burning arserings at a time when I'm going through the worst of ciggie deprivation.

Tell you what Lynnie......you stay well clear of me and I'll keep well out of your way!  Grrrrr!

On the contrary, I have always generally found your posts to be quite witty, fun and intelligent.  No harm or hurt was intended.  If anything, it would seem that you are the one that had a go at me (on the forum, and not by pm as YOU so DELICATELY suggested) for expressing my own views.
It just didn't seem like the Cerina I knew.
Sincerely truly sorry for having offended you, when concern at your different behavior seemed odd to me.

And of course, my apologies to Admin. who is gently and tactfully tapping us on the fingers.  I, for one, will be much better behaved in my choice of words from now on...
