Furious at Facebook Again! When a man tried to return my lost laptop, Facebook hid his messages from me. How come?

I checked. It's true. I found few messages there .
I'm not a FB fan, but I have an account. I'm a very polite person and I like to answer to peoples' messages. How can I answer after few month?

No. But I have a lot of old friends who are in other countries now for many, many years. We lost contact.
Now, we are in contact again, with mails, telephone numbers, etc. But there are some messages which I didn't find. Example: the 21 years old daughter of my best friend when I was 10 years old wrote me a message and I didn't answer.
She thougt that maybe I didn't want.
In rest, I use FB to promote my art works.

You can get notifications of new messages sent to your phone if you have one of those new-fangled iphones or androids. That is the last thing I would want ... getting messages at all hours of the day or night!

No, thank you. I'm not such a fan of FB. I don't miss it if I don't have time to check it every day, but I don't like to search for messages.
