Superman's bulge worries movie bosses

The new Superman is giving movie bosses a headache - because of the size of his bulge.

They fear Brandon Routh's profile in the superhero's skintight costume could be distracting, reports the Sun.

Hollywood executives have ordered the makers of Superman Returns to cover it up with digital effects.

The Sun's source said: "It's a major issue for the studio. Brandon is extremely well endowed and they don't want it up on the big screen.

"We may be forced to erase his package with digital effects."

Brandon, 26, has taken over the superhero's cape from the late Christopher Reeve.

Wardrobe artists have had to fit him with a special codpiece for the new film out next year.

I don't know why they didn't get the actor from Superman: The early years to be in the new Superman film or maybe Dean Cain from the other Superman TV show.

Don't worry, there probably won't be much of a plot anyway. It won't be the same without Christopher Reeves IMO.

They won't need a plot with all the crotch publicity ... no-one is going to go to watch the film.
I suppose the special effects might be interesting

That's quite a shame. Again with the double standards. Do you think that the movie people would digital effect a woman’s breast and make them appear smaller? I think not.

No, they would make them even bigger.

I can't believe they are actually going to release a new Superman film anyway, its been so long in the planning. I'm sure I heard at one point Nicholas Cage was going to play Superman, I can't even imagine that. No doubt the film got the green light because of the current success of super hero films, such as (my favourite) Spiderman as well as Batman and the Fantastic Four.

Are women really that shallow, that they would concentrate on Superman's package instead of the film?

Looking back at the Spiderman movie I noticed that he had no package at all. Did that make the film any better?

If Christopher Reeves was still alive, I'm sure he would be sooooooo pleased to know that he had no crotch at all. Superman 1 and 2 were great, but 3 was average (saved only by Richard Pryor) and 4 was dire (saved by nothing).

Image it is there (why am I even looking at Superman's crotch?).

Its hard to tell with Spiderman, for a start he is computer generated when hes swinging around the place. -

Maybe Drew has a slight obsession with Superman's crotch. I know I do now. *ahem*

Here is a picture of Brandon Routh as Superman, with or without erased package.

Just who are these 'movie bosses' and why do you suppose his bulge worries them so much?

That is a good point. I can't see it being that much of a problem, unless it was hanging out of his costume or something.
