I fell

It really bites the big one - vent you'll feel better

I fell

Postby Lynniescot » 07 Feb 07, 5:35 pm

I won't go into too many details but I fell this past weekend and I've been moping and feeling very miserable all week. I have not really been able to eat anything unless it's through a straw. I've pulled some tendons on my shoulder and cut my elbow and I did THIS to my lip.

Now this is the 2nd time I've done this, same spot and christ it's got to one of the worse places to cut yourself. It just constantly hurts.  Ok. I just wanted to vent and whine. I honestly don't deserve an sympathy....well maybe just a wee bit.

Sorry Lynne, that looks like a sore one.

If you've done it before, why did you do it again?

I don't know why I did it again.........because I'm stupid?  I just want to add that I do not have dirty teeth! The last time I did it I actually killed my tooth and it went all sort of blackish. It doesn't hurt and apparently it's fine left in but it makes me look like I never brush ma teeth!

It is but you know what seems to work? Eating hot or spicy foods. Right now I'm having some pho with chili sauce in it. Rarrrrr. It's numbing it somewhat.

It's actually MUCH better. I have most of the feeling back in my front tooth again the wound is healing up nicely. I hear that the mouth heals the fastest on the body when it's damaged. I also made sure I had ointment and a really good bloody mouthwash.  Only problem is, is that my lip will always have a wee peice of scar tissue on it and thus resulting in the fact that I can't whistle anymore. Can you believe that?

Say, what?  I've cut the inside of my lip, mouth and even tongue before and not had a problem with scar tissue.

Keep working that lip, dear; you'll be callin' the dogs in no time.

Massage the area firmly between your thumb and forefinger to break down any build up of scar tissue, Lynne, and you should be fine.

Lynnie, it's good to hear that you are better now. I know how it is, I bit myself (don't laugh, yes, myself) :D and it's painful. Somebody told me to put imediatly an ice cube to reduce pain and inflamation and it worked. After that I bought some baby gel for teeth with pain reliever and used it any time I needed.
