Log me on automatically each visit does not seem to work.
I use Firefox 37.x

I did a check on IE 11 and same thing happens

If you have something that blocks or clears your cookies then it wont remember to log you in everytime.

Changed applied to cookie policy / server settings / refreshed

Please let me know if that fixed the issue.

When I post or check messages the forum goes to the log in page. If I type the first letter of my name it fills out everything else.

Is that ?

Auto log in is cookie based, and you are automatically logged i so you never see the log in screen.

As to why it is not working is a good question
