100,000 years ago the world was 2C colder and we were in the middle of an ice age. At 2°C warmer the climate poses similar challenges for humanity. We are fortunate to be living in what has been termed the Goldilocks zone.

Fun fact: Most of the people who did not believe in climate change will die before the effects of climate change get really serious.

It is also the nature of people not change things until there is a crisis. There's even a saying for that; "if it ain't broken don't fix it".

Not saying it's not broken, but I am saying that until people perceive a danger they will not react

It is Not just climate change. http://www.livescience.com/57590-why-am ... ience.html For some reason it has become okay to say "Opinions are as valid as facts".

That's not to say that research should never disagree with previous research. Research only really gains credibility when it is peer-reviewed. In other words, another scientist has taken the same methods and produced similar results.

Facts are facts; they do not have a political opinion one way or the other.

We are bombarded with ads that say "new research shows" or "new study says" that are not based on legitimate research. It's hard for people without a science background to know the difference legitimate research and bullshit posing as science.
