Russian President Vladimir Putin could be prepping for global war, in the wake of deteriorating relations with the United States and other Western countries, according to an incendiary new report.

Putin sent out an order to top Russian officials, politicians and their children across the world demanding that they return to the Motherland, the Daily Star claimed.

The order comes amid rising tensions with the US over Syria and Putin’s last-minute cancellation of a planned trip to Paris to meet with French President François Hollande.

A terrifying Russian television broadcast explicitly told civilians to find out where their nearest bomb shelter is and repeatedly asked viewers if they were ready for nuclear war.

One apocalyptic broadcast told viewers on Moscow's state-owned TV channel NTV: "If it should one day happen, every one of you should know where the nearest bomb shelter is. It’s best to find out now."

You and I have been around long enough that the paint is starting to fade. I don't think that they would let us in - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_Zero_(blues_club) although to be fair Morgan Freeman is older than I am

I would like to leave something to help the next generation, and a radiated world is definitely not what I had in mind. Since I don't have any say so in world politics, the best I can do is to try to leave something that will help them deal with the Egomaniacs and Narcissist's that run this place.

ok don't know if it still exists but the ground zero club I was referring to was a group of people nationwide who had stated they would head toward the nearest ground zero (place expected to be targeted by nukes in a war) when they heard the missiles had been launched because they didn't want to try to survive in a post apocalyptic world

The TL;DR Version

• The My Friend Cayla and i-Que toys listen, record & send voice data to a defense contractor specializing in voice-recognition.
• These practices may violate rules governing the collection & use of online data obtained from kids.
• Researchers claim that the devices are easily hacked to either intercept data or to turn the toys into remote listening devices.

If you want a real tinfoil moment look at pension funds. Most were predicated on an annual return of about 7% They haven't been anything close to that for quite some time now. But they are still required by contract to pay out as if that was the average rate of return. You don't have to be an accountant to know what's coming down the road

“Thou canst not touch the freedom of my mind,” wrote the playwright John Milton in 1634.

But, nearly 400 years later, technological advances in machines that can read our thoughts mean the privacy of our brain is under threat.

Now two biomedical ethicists are calling for the creation of new human rights laws to ensure people are protected, including “the right to cognitive liberty” and “the right to mental integrity”.

On a more serious note it does seem more plausible than it was just a few years ago.

hey, not sure if this is the right place for this but last night I was watching a program I had tivoe'd and in the middle of it it switched back to live tv. The station was doing its weekly EBS check. That was odd enough, never had that happen before but what got me was it wouldn't let me change channels or go back to my recorded program until it was thru, so they had taken control of my receiver. Al I could think was 1984

btw it was live tv it switched back to because when I could I went back to my program and it picked right were it left off so it wasn't recorded as part of the program
