It finally happened

It really bites the big one - vent you'll feel better

It finally happened

Postby Sting » 21 Jan 08, 5:29 pm

I have been told that I will no longer be working as of Jan 25th with Eaton, a company I've been working with for over 26 years. However, I took a short time job in Reynosa, Mexico beginning the 4th of Feb, training some of the people there how to do my job. I will be living in a hotel in McAllen, Texas for a few months commuting back and forth from Texas to Mexico daily. The worst part is being away from Q, although she will be visiting me for a weekend now and again which should make things better.

I know that life is a bitch, but this is really going to Suck.

Well that sucks the big one

Some days I bitch about working for myself; no health insurance, having to do everything, my retirement lost if I go out of business and lots of others. But it least I know that I'll be the last one to lose my job.

At least you have the smarts to run your own business. Something I know nothing about.

That really sucks Sting...Even though you know it was going to happen and you were prepared for it, it still seems to be a shock...At least you do have another job to go to. Your lucky there..Some won't be.. Being away from Q and your home is going to take some adjusting to say the least.
How much longer do you have to work Sting before you do retire?

Well, drat. We all knew it was coming, but it's still sad news to hear, Sting.

Be careful commuting into and out of Mexico. What with all the border-fence brouhaha [and general animosity besides].

Spiff up your resumé and get it back onto the market; you'll find something.

Spod, you soon have to learn how to fix it by yourself. :? :D

Sting, I'm so sorry about that stupid situation. I don't know what to say because I don't know a lot of things about life and work in the US. :?
But I guess Lonestar is right. I'm sure you will find something closer to your place. Don't give up and even if you go for a while in Mexic, try to find something else. Maybe try on internet. (sorry if I say stupid things, I told you I don't know how things are going there)
I wish you a lot of good luck!

Thanks everyone. :D

I'm going in the direction with what Lonestar is saying. Going to Mexico and helping start a product line is something I'll put on my resume and who knows, it could help. And I wish I could do what SPoD does, but my mom isn't around anymore. Moms are the best thing to have around when you are in a jam or need advise. Listen to her well, SPoD, she knows whats best. And Breeze..... I never, ever heard you say anything stupid and I value your opinion, highly. Not so sure about your driving though.
