Tired...

Postby Ice Queen » 21 Jun 11, 4:42 pm

What I said. After 8 hours in the library with pathophysiology...I need:

a.) a big drink: vodka, coctail, gyn-tonik, vodka juice...any of those
or
b.) money to go shopping for shoes tomorrow after I wake up
or
c.) a good massage
or
d.) breakfast in bed tomorrow
or
e.) strenghth to survive 6 more days of studying and pass the exam...

Anyone?

I think you know my answer, were it possible to act upon it, dearest.

Alas, I know how you feel. My employer is cutting everyone *back* to 8 hours per day/40 hours per week...but the amount of work in a given day is increasing, if anything.

Vodka begins to sound very good right about now. Or hydrocodone. :drunken:

At least the end is in sight, maybe not for you Lonestar. My husband says they have been told no overtime will be given, there is no workload for that, however, targets have increased per hour, margins increased. In a nutshell, they are working to reach higher targets for the same pay. He says there have been uncooperativeness from employees, there is too many to 'let go' so managers are trying to work out how to get over that problem.

Let us know how you get on in the exams, will be thinking of you to pass it all with high merits/honors or something like that.

There's nothing remotely interesting or cool about me.
How cool and interesting was that?!

Oh, it's gotten worse since my post above, Vix. We're running short on component parts in my department and last week I and several others were given Thursday and Friday off, making it only a 24-hour workweek. Don't know what awaits me tomorrow; I've to go in, but one team leader has her people on "will call" status.

Someone want to talk to me about "hope and change," hm? :banghead:

That's not fair Lonestar, you are expected to give productive output but how can you with this kind of mess going on?

On a positive news. Husband is working overtime until tomorrow. Apparently Heathrow has run out of working hot water caddy to dispense tea/coffee. Now my husband has to work overtime to repair the ones that isn't supposed to be repaired as no one in Heathrow can find the ones that was supposed to be despatched for repair.

Strange.

No, it isn't fair. But what is even more unfair, is that it seems we're not being told much if anything. It's rather unsettling to see about half the departments in the facility shut down and with lights off, as I've seen this week. Doesn't the management think that people will see this?

I've heard of one rumor, that the company's China operation is going great guns. Anyone reading this probably knows what I'm suspecting. I keep trying to be optimistic, that this is a slump that will be recovered from. I've seen it before, elsewhere.

Oh, and I'm off today and Friday, just as with last week.

Good on Mark getting overtime. May he get all the hot-water caddies repaired and be the hero of the hour.

The bad news is their company lost a contract with one firm. They have decided to scrap airplanes in favour of buying new planes. It works out cheaper as the new planes will come in with a ten year guarantee.

The good news is they have won a major contract with Boeing.

Tipsy turvy world where nothing is guaranteed for workers.

There's nothing remotely interesting or cool about me.

As I mentioned elsewhere, as of Monday my position at work was eliminated. I and several others were given the opportunity to review available open jobs.

As it turns out, I managed to dodge the bullet. I've been accepted for the open position in a department near my old one. This keeps me employed and my benefits continuous. I start in the morning; my pay rate remains unchanged, thank goodness.

*Oy* I'm getting too old for this.
