After a while.

The pen is mighty

After a while.

Stumbleapon comes up trumps again. :)

After a while...

After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrows ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn...

That is my favorite piece of prose ever.  No one has any idea how often I used it when I was discarded like an old shoe a few years ago.

It gave me strength and hope when I needed it most...and no one will ever make me believe it shouldn't be an inspiration for all who need it.

It's far too good for mere Dirtz $$...rather I'll give you my admiration for posting it...

I agree, it's one of the most meaningful and inspirational things I've ever read.
I don't post any old rubbish but this just has to be read.  :)
It's certainly a way to live by.
