Help Us Promote BoF!

As Berny said, we can set up a page along the lines of "BitofFun Forums" with a respective member of staff running the page. If the account access details are shared between the staff we could all run it between us. We could have a blog which simply announces updates and changes within the forum, or even a little section for D$$ awards and what-not. Or member creation of the week. Joke of the week. Etc etc. Just a separate page which integrates aspects of the forum without drawing attention from it. If members belong to any of these social networking sites they could also help spread the word by adding the board to their friends list, thus drawing more visitors and potentially more members.
As the world seems to be swinging more towards social networking it's a simple way to keep up with the crowd and draw them back into forums without changing the board itself.

It may be worth a try. Though it may be important to choose which site we use carefully. Some communities are more mature than others. Myspace seems to be the most obvious, but it tends to be dominated by teenagers. Facebook appears to be the site most used by adults, although I don't know a great deal about these profile pages really.

I think it sounds like a really good idea. It would be difficult to make sure that the only people who joined were over the age of 18. Especialy since social networking is used by all ages but mainly younger people.

I like the idea. Several of us on here have Facebook accounts, and it does tend to attract the older age group, and I have a feeling that they have an age restriction, so I think that would probably be the better one.

I once had a Satan page on myspace. Does that count? Once I had Jesus and 'Hank the angry midget' on my friends list, the fun was pretty much over.
