Instead of college basketball, let's talk about predatory private probation companies. Do we really want private companies in control of our incarceration system? Their goal may not be so much helping people as increasing profits and fees.
One might be forgiven for wondering who would get stuck with the bill for incarcerating people who cannot come up with the money to pay fees. As most of you probably already suspected, would be you and me - the taxpayers.
