Marijuana has been gaining increasing acceptance in recent years. During the last national election Pro marijuana referendums passed in eight states. Currently 44 states have some form of medical marijuana law and eight states allow recreational use.
In 1969 a Gallup poll showed that only 12% of the population favored legalization. Today the number of people in favor legalization stands at over 60%. But under federal law, even legal marijuana is illegal. If you have marijuana right now, even if you are acting completely within the laws of your state, you may still be in serious jeopardy, and that's just not weed induced paranoia.
