Art on a Grand Scale

Perhaps you have seen the images floating around the Internet of larger-than-life realistic sculptures.
They are the work of hyperrealist sculptor, Ron Mueck

Ron Mueck’s “Boy” grew from small model to huge sculpture in the space of nine months.

Latex was the usual material, but he wanted something harder, more precise. Fiberglass resin was the answer, and Mueck has made it his bronze and marble ever since.

Mueck's sculptures faithfully reproduce the minute detail of the human body, but play with scale to produce disconcertingly jarring visual images
